This also requires changing for providing assurance of the educational quality. The assurance of educational quality must be based on evidence. It is an urgent requirement to establish the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle through actions for Faculty Development (FD) based on evidence for improvement in education. For its teaching and learning, IR consists of processes that require collection of various educational data, conducting their analysis, and informing management of teaching and learning them, thus linking them to educational improvement. The comprehension of the learning processes and the outcomes obtained by students and development of rigid and objective evaluation methods in IR for teaching and learning are needed for assurance of educational quality based evidence. Therefore, we developed a macro program for creating learning portfolios to visualize the learning process and learning outcome of each student. We distributed a portfolio to each student in the second year in Asahi University School of Dentistry as well as questionnaires about the portfolio. The results demonstrate that the portfolio functions not only as a tool for understanding learning outcomes but also provides useful data of learning processes regarding students’ introspectiveness
