The subjects consisted of 13 patients with palatal inclination of the upper central incisor (Test group : mean age, 9 years and 4months) and 20 patients with normal inclination of the upper central incisor (Control group ; mean age, 9 years 0 month). Three-dimensional facial soft tissue images were obtained using a non-contact 3D digital camera. The angle between the Frankfurt plane and upper lip was measured and compared between two groups. Statistical analysis was performed by Welchʼs t test. From our results, the degree of upper lip protrusion in the Test group was significantly smaller than in the Control group (P<0.05). Using the analytical methods mentioned in this study, the 3D characteristic of the lip surface profile could be
