値 Contribution: Presenter, To determine whether Ihh regulates those processes during post-natal life, we studied these morphological characteristics of chondrocytes at cranial base synchondrosis and condylar cartilage of cartilage calcification insuficient (CCI) rats compared to normal SD rats.CCI rats showed abnormal synchondrosis including longitudinally wider length of intra-sphenoidal and spheno-occipital synchondrosis compared to the normal SD rats. CCI rats also exhibited morphological defects surface or reduced cartilage of mandibular condyle based of the histological and molecular biological findings. The data demonstrate that CCI rats affect their endochondral ossification due to excessive Ihh signaling, which results in hyper proliferating but feed-back arrest of chondrocyte differentiation to remain the layer of chondrocytes in post-natal development.
