内容記述 In this research report, I analyzed the history of the education of children with disabilities in Japan as well as the process of enacting and implementing international and national laws for people with disabilities. The number of students with disabilities studying in universities has increased, and I especially focus my study on the considerable accommodations for students with hearing impairments, using smartphones and personal computers. I conducted experiments to use precis writing and the use of voice recognition software, “Universal Design(UD)Talk”, for the students with hearing impairments of junior and senior high school. I found the difference of two methods and better method as reasonable accommodation for students with hearing impairments. Providing a note-taker or note-taking is useful not only for the students with hearing impairments but also for ones with physical disabilities or autism spectrum disorder etc. UD-talk with a translation function is available for the communication between the international students and their Japanese teachers. By accepting students with disabilities, our university has become a more “barrier free” campus. Inclusive education can change universities and societies. In addition, inclusive education is expected to improve the quality of life for both people with and without disabilities and contribute to a better society. Therefore, we should actively promote policies to assist students with disabilities to be admitted to universities. Funding for this project has been provided by President Otomo to promote the project for educational reform in our university.
