| 内容記述 | 1990年代にインターネットの商用利用が始まり、時代は高度情報通信社会へと大きく変貌した。1993年に文部省（当時）の在外研究員として、シェフィールド大学に滞在する機会を得た。この時、当時同時期の欧州や米国にいたコンピュータエンジニアリングを主たる研究領域とする日本人研究者と交流を持つことができた。そして、ネットワークサーバプログラミングを作る計画を持ち、実際にプログラミングして、実行してみた。本稿は、インターネットが拡張期に入る直前に実施された、ネットワークサーバープログラミング上で実際に観測された事態とその対処法を紹介することで、当時の様子を垣間見た記録である。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Commercial use of the Internet began in the 1990s, and the era has changed dramatically into an advanced information and communication society. In 1993, I had the opportunity to stay at the University of Sheffield as an overseas researcher of the Ministry of Education (at that time). We were able to interact with Japanese researchers who were in Europe and the United States at the same time and whose main research area was computer engineering. Then, we had a plan to create network server programming and tried to execute it. This paper is a record of a glimpse of the situation at that time by introducing the situations observed in network server programming and the countermeasures taken just before the Internet entered the expansion period. |
